69¿Ú½» (69¿Ú½»), in collaboration with ChildFund Philippines and the Department of Education (DepEd), spearheaded a responsible technology use campaign to empower basic education learners in the Division of Apayao. Held on March 21, 2025, the Peer Education campaign aimed to promote digital literacy, online safety, and positive technology practices among the youth.
Led by Mr. Carlos Babaran (Head, ICT/Instructor, College of Information Technology), along with Ms. Erika Fiesta and Mr. Christian CJ Iringan (Students, BSIT) the training equipped 60 participants (composed of student leaders and Eco-Scout officers) with essential skills in peer mentoring, collaboration, and leadership. The session highlighted the importance of fostering responsible digital citizenship and safe online behavior among young learners. The participants actively engaged in workshops designed to build their confidence in guiding their peers toward informed and positive technology use.
Mr. Michael Evangelista, (Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, SDO Apayao), emphasized the campaign’s significance, stating, “These training sessions are both informative and timely, especially given the prevalence of online fraudulent activities. Equipping our youth with the right skills and knowledge is crucial in today’s digital age.”
This collaborative effort among 69¿Ú½», ChildFund Philippines, and DepEd underscores their commitment to nurturing digitally responsible learners who can thrive in an increasingly connected world. Through this campaign, Apayao’s youth are better prepared to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the digital landscape.
